Terms and Conditions of Entry *

As we have limited resources and work on a volunteer basis only, submissions CANNOT be accepted unless they comply with the following:

All entrants:

1. Must not use any AI in the development of their work.

2. Must be the original work of the writer submitting.

3. Are allowed a maximum of two entries per writer.

4. Are required to complete the Entry Form above with each submission.

5. Must ensure their name is not visible anywhere on the manuscript.

6. Must submit their work in a Word document only

7. Are asked to please note PDFs, links to Share Folders, screenshots, Google docs etc will not be accepted.

8. Must fit on or under the maximum word limit and be categorised as follows:

• Children (up to primary school year 4): 800 words or less

• Young Teens (years 5 to 8) : 1,200 words or less

• Teens (years 9 to 12): 1,500 words or less

• Open (18 and over): 1,800 words or less

9. Must not have won any other previous writing awards at the time of entry with the submitted writing.

10. Need to email the entry form and attached submission (in Word only) by Monday 31st November, 2026.

Important note: Once you’ve entered your submission/s, you will be notified by email within three working days. If you do not receive an email in this time please notify the coordinator by SMS 0402 822775 or email surrenderfilms@bigpond.com
